7 June 2026 – What have I learned today?

Acts chapter 4 verses 18-21 (NIV)

Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges!  As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened.

The Holy Spirit had completely transformed the lives of Peter and John. They now boldly challenged the authorities of whom they had been so afraid. They refused to yield to their demands. When the religious leaders were asked, ” Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you or to Him?” I believe they knew what was right, because Peter and John spoke with such authority that they had to let them go.

If we allow the Holy Spirit to move in us as He desires, our lives too can be transformed and we can face situations of which we may have been afraid. We also will be able to speak with His authority which will have an impact on those we come across.

Dear Lord,

Once again I thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the difference that He makes in our lives. Help me to be obedient to His leading. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
