1 Corinthians chapter 2 verses 9-12 (NIV)
However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
These verses really struck me today. If people think the Holy Spirit has a lesser role, show them these verses. We read that the Spirit searches the deep things of God. And He can reveal those to us for God’s purposes and His Glory. We surely can echo the psalmist’s words – surely such knowledge is too wonderful for me. But that’s an indication of how intimate a relationship God wants to have with us, and it’s the Holy Spirit who facilitates this.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to work in my life. May I be sensitive to His teaching and leading. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
