Song of Songs chapter 2 verse 4 (NIV)
Let him lead me to the banquet hall,
and let his banner over me be love.
This is a familiar verse and has been included in many Christian songs and choruses.
What struck me today however was the fact that the bride in Song of Songs is led in to the banqueting Hall where his love is declared for all to see.
It was a reminder to me that we couldn’t just come into God’s Presence of our own accord, Jesus was the one who led us in. His death so public on the cross was the public banner of love held up for all to see.
How wonderful that because of the love of Jesus we are able to fully partake of all of the fullness and riches of God, as long as we allow ourselves to be led in by Jesus.
Dear Lord,
Help me to submit to being led in the times where I would rush off and attempt to do things in my own strength. Thank You for the love and grace so wholly and publicly poured out for us. Amen.
