Isaiah chapter 63 verse 5 (NIV)
I looked, but there was no one to help,
I was appalled that no one gave support;
so my own arm achieved salvation for me,
and my own wrath sustained me.
Isaiah chapter 63 verse 7(NIV)
I will tell of the kindnesses of the LORD,
the deeds for which he is to be praised,
according to all the LORD has done for us—
yes, the many good things
he has done for Israel,
according to his compassion and many kindnesses.
God chose Israel to be an example to the other nations of the earth so that they too would turn to God, but Israel too often went her own way and couldn’t be relied upon as a light to the Gentiles. So God had to do it Himself by sending His Son.
Because of what God through Jesus has done for us we should be pleased to tell of His kindness to us and to allow the light of Jesus to shine through us. It’s a further example, as we have seen this week of the compassion and kindness to us.
Dear Lord,
We are but dust and have let You down so many times. Help me to be a faithful and true light to show others how much You love them. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
