20 October 2026 – What have I learned today?

Psalm 119 verse 66 (NIV)

Teach me knowledge and good judgment,

   for I trust your commands.

They say that we are never too old to learn something new. We learn best, I think, when we are willing to learn, but also when we have a good teacher. We can probably all Name a teacher from school who brought out the best in us.

The Psalmist asks God to teach him knowledge and good judgement. This proves that we can learn these things if we are willing to listen to God, and more importantly put into practice what we have learned.

God is the best teacher because He knows us. He knows how we will learn as individuals and, if we are willing, He will teach us these things that will not only impact the way that we live, but will also impact on those around us.

Thankfully, we are never too old to learn spiritual things.

Dear Lord,

Help me to be a willing and capable student of Your ways, and quick to put Your commands into practice. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
