John Chapter 12: Verses 9-11
When all the people heard of Jesus’ arrival, they flocked to see him and also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus had raised from the dead. Then the leading priests decided to kill Lazarus, too, for it was because of him that many of the people had deserted them[e] and believed in Jesus.
When someone decides to follow Jesus, their lifestyles, habits and attitudes should reflect those of Jesus. Not everyone liked Jesus either. The religious leaders also took offence at Lazarus, because what Jesus had done for him caused people to turn to Jesus themselves. When Jesus makes a major impact on our lives, it should show, like Lazarus. People may be curious and ask us more. Hopefully that in turn may become a catalyst to some folk making the decision to follow Jesus themselves.
We just need to accept that not everyone will appreciate our faith but remember we are in good company.
Dear Lord,
Thank You that You can make such a big impact on our lives that they can turn other people to trust You too. Help me not to get upset or anxious when anyone takes offence at my faith in You. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
