8 June 2023 – What have I learned today?

Psalm 71: 14-15 (NLT)

As for me, I will always have hope;

    I will praise you more and more.

 My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds,

    of your saving acts all day long—

    though I know not how to relate them all.

In this Psalm, David describes a time of trial and persecution. Even with God’s hand on him he was not immune to such things. And yet, because of his relationship with God, he could say that in spite of his circumstances he would always have hope. Thus, he could testify about God’s goodness and mercy to him, even at his lowest ebb.

And so it is with us. With God, and through the redemptive work of Jesus we are never without hope. Even in despair we can hold on to the fact that God loves us, and Jesus will walk through our situation with us. Because of that we can give Him praise – even in the hard times!

Dear Lord,

Thank You for the hope we have in Jesus. He is indeed the Good Shepherd who walks with us in every valley experience, and that is beyond price. Thank You! Amen.
