2 Corinthians Chapter 11: Verses 4-6 (NLT Translation)
You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed. But I don’t consider myself inferior in any way to these “super apostles” who teach such things. I may be unskilled as a speaker, but I’m not lacking in knowledge. We have made this clear to you in every possible way.
How much do we “put up with” things that go against what we are taught and believe? Are we guilty of compromising all the time so as not to offend? Paul was considered by some to be an unskilled speaker, perhaps not so fortunate as some who put forward their case. Compromise has its place but there are times when we need to speak up and God will help us to do that when we need to, even if we stutter and stammer. We also need never feel that we lack knowledge to do so when we have access to the inspired word of God which is the bible, and also have the help of the Holy Spirit as our teacher and counsellor.
Dear Lord,
Thank You that I need never get anxious about standing up for my belief in You. I know that You will give me the strength and the words to say. Help me also to be wise in what I listen to and accept.
I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
