Psalm 106: Verses 34 -35 (NIV Translation)
They did not destroy the peoples
as the Lord had commanded them,
but they mingled with the nations
and adopted their customs.
God does not like compromise when it means that we don’t do what He asks of us. The Israelites were meant to depose and destroy the people who lived in Canaan, but they compromised and it led them into sin. Sometimes what God asks of us may seem harsh, but there is always a reason for this. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and He knew the people of Israel would follow after the ways of the people in the land. Whatever God asks of us, there is always a reason for it that is for our benefit. If we don’t want to miss our on-God’s best for us, then we need to do it.
Dear Lord,
I may not always understand but You don’t need me to understand, You need me to be obedient. That’s when I need Your help and strength. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
