2 Corinthians Chapter 12: Verse 20 (NLT translation)
For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder.
Do we set standards and expectations for ourselves and others and then find out that we, and they, don’t match up to those standards. Its not possible to meet high, unrealistic expectations. The bible tells us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. (Romans Chapter 3: verse 23) That’s why we need Jesus. He covers our imperfections with His perfection.
Let’s not put unrealistic expectations on anyone and be disappointed. Let’s just rejoice that Jesus has everything covered. Praise God!
Dear Lord,Thank You for making perfect in Jesus what I could never achieve. May I never judge myself and others by my expectations. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
