Galatians Chapter 4: Verses 13-14 (NIV)

As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you, and even though my illness was a trial to you, you did not treat me with contempt or scorn. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself.

God uses the most difficult of circumstances for good. Paul was ill when he first preached to the Galatians, but God used the situation to bless both him and them.

We should never think that good will never come out of our difficulties. We need to trust God and look for it. Then we, and those we come into contact with will both be blessed. Surely that outcome is much better than having a pity party and feeling sorry for ourselves.

Dear Lord,

Thank You that we can be both blessed and a blessing, even in the most difficult of times. Help me to remember that the next time I feel sorry for myself. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
