John chapter 17 verses 25-26 (NIV)
“Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”
Philippians chapter 1 verse 6 (NIV)
being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
I think what struck me in these verses was one word – continue. Jesus completed His earthly commission, confirming even in His final words, “It is finished!”, but He is still at work today. And the amazing thing is, He wants to work through those of us who have chosen to follow Him, and in moving through us, in turn to reach others. Once He starts to move in us, He never gives up on us. That’s what Paul told the Philippians church, and the same applies to us. How amazing and reassuring is that. Something to truly praise God for!
Dear Lord,
I’m grateful that You never give up on us, and that You continue to work out Your plans for us, in us and through us. Thank you. Amen.
